The Sin Park

WANG Chen’s work incorporates digital video, performance, 3D game design, costume, sculpture fabrication, and drawing. By layering these different mediums into a single digital composition, the artist creates an overwhelming fantasy experience. The artist’s recent video installation The Sin Park is marked by costumed performance with gestures of dominance that spring from human desire and physical violence. The dense and highly saturated mise-en- scène, combined with these gestures/behaviors, creates an allegory on power dynamics within sexual identity and intimate relationships.
